Overall composite station

The overall composite substation developed by SHEMAR based on years of experience in the production of substation’s external insulation products. The external insulation of the electrical equipment adopts long-life composite insulators, which realizes maintenance-free during the whole life cycle, and effectively reduces the life cycle cost of the substation.

The overall composite substation adopts a fully composite design of primary equipment + substation structure, which is maintenance-free during the whole life cycle and effectively reduces the life cycle cost. The traditional iron structure of the power station is compounded, which greatly reduces the area of occupied land and makes the substation miniaturized and compact.

Composite insulators

  • 1

    Reliable

No explosion, no brittle break, no flashover, maintenance-free external insulation.

  • 2

    Economical

The whole life cycle cost is greatly reduced, and the external insulation is free of operation and maintenance.

  • 3

    Environment-ally friendly

The production process has low energy consumption and is more environmentally friendly; all components can be recycled and reused, which is more resource-saving.

Taking China's State Grid and China Southern Power Grid's new power stations in 2019 as examples, if all the stations use SHEMAR composite insulators, the cost of whole purchase can be saved by 230 million yuan, and the total savings in 30 years will reach 6.9 billion yuan.

Composite architecture

1

More reliable

Corrosion-resistant; eliminating wind swinging; composite external insulation is maintenance-free throughout the whole life cycle.

2

More economical

Reduce the height of the structure, reduce the land area, and greatly reduce the cost of land acquisition.

After the application of the composite frame: the composite frame greatly reduces the amount of steel and eliminates the use of porcelain or glass insulators, making the whole cost lower than the traditional iron frame; reducing the area by about 11% (the

  • Standard

SMAREPC initiated the establishment of the IEEE international standard "Technical Guidelines for overall composite substation" in 2020. This standard aims to standardize the design, construction, operation and maintenance of overall composite substation, and ensure that power grid companies choose safer, more reliable, and more economical substation solutions when planning and constructing their networks. Maximizing the benefits of designers, manufacturers, construction personnel, operation & maintenance personnel.

  • Patent applications

SMAR currently has a total of 36 patent applications related to substation structures, including 13 inventions, 19 utility models, and 4 designs.
